Lenox better known as Yung Lenox had his first show during Frieze Art Fair in NYC at age 6.
His artwork was been featured in Juxtapoz Magazine, Buzzfeed, NYT, The Guardian, Vice, Warp Magazine (Japan), NME, Medium, Huffington Post, among others.
Over the next three and a half years, he has had solo shows in Vancouver B.C, Los Angeles, and Tokyo. Much of this journey was captured in a documentary “Live Fast, Draw Yung” which premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in 2015.
After his Tokyo 2016 show, offers for more shows, requests to appear on network tv, and private commissions were waiting. All of them were turned down. The family instead chose to have fully uninterrupted school and summers. It was his “art retirement” if such a concept exists for a 10 year old.
Flash forward to summer 2019. Lenox started making hand drawn t-shirts and learning to use spray paint in between surfing and skating. And then simply declared he no longer was going to be ”retired". He is currently 13 years old in finishing the 8th grade. He can usually be found playing basketball or hanging with his dog, Pablo.
